FAq: A Funny Ass Party
When I first started doing standup comedy and DJing (two wrongs make a right!), I was hungry for the right vibe from a show: Black, Brown, Gay, and the adjacent folks who make me laugh.
Having always been a party girl, I couldn’t help but wonder: What is my most perfect night? I’m not sure of the details, but I know it includes laughing to the funniest people I know and dancing around to music I love.
THUS,
FAq: A Funny Ass Party
was born.
A night of laughs and (hopefully) lap dances, garnering the attention of NEW YORK TIMES STYLE and SAPPHIC NY.
DESIGN
Inspired by the bright typographic work of 1950s Swedish Design, I wanted to create a party whose name was more art than word.
FAq represents my curiosity (Frequently Asked Questions) queerness (that word) and how things are sometimes just a little askew.
Bold black and white imagery set against a bold red background, everyone is in danger of being a FAq.
But how fun is that? :P
